|The perfect 4 zone multiroom sound system for the control cabinet|
What you need to know about the RP341v2
The RP341v2 is a complete multiroom system for 4 rooms: amplifier, sources, control - all in a width of just 16 cm (9 TE).
- Extremely flexible thanks to the trivum t3OS operating system.
- 4 x amplifiers with 2x30 watts each
- 4 x streaming clients: Each zone has its own streaming client.
- 1 x DAB + / FM tuner: All zones share this DAB + / FM tuner.
- 1 x analog line input
- Music streaming from TuneIn, AirPlay, Spotify, Deezer, Tidal, Qobuz, SoundMachine, NAS and web URLs.
- Free app for iOS and Android or can be operated via browser.
- Perfectly integrated in KNX.
- Drivers for RTI and Control4 available free of charge.
- The RP341v2 can be used alone for 4 zones. It can be combined with other trivum sound systems for up to 64 zones.
What are the changes compared to the RP341?
- The new RP341v2 has 4 instead of 1 streaming clients.
- The new RP341v2 has a DAB + / FM tuner instead of an FM tuner.
- The line input of the RP341v2 has a 3.5 jack socket.
- The new RP341v2 has no line output.
- The possibility of RP341 using the lineout as the 5th zone has been omitted with the RP341v2.
- The volume control output of the RP341 has been removed.
Why the RP341v2 and not the...
SC340: Like the RP341v2, the SC340 is a 4 zone system with 4 streaming clients. The advantage of the SC340 is that it can be used outside of a distribution cabinet. Otherwise the RP341v2 has the built-in DAB + / FM tuner and a line input in addition to the SC340. The power supply unit is included in the scope of delivery of the SC340.
SC344v2: Like the RP341v2, the SC344v2 is a 4 zone system with 4 streaming clients. The RP341v2 has been developed for installation in a control cabinet. In terms of price, this is cheaper than the SC344v2, but the SC344v2 has 4 tuners, 4 line inputs and 4 line outputs. So if you get by with one line input and one tuner and don't need any line outputs, then the RP341v2 is perfect.
Features of the RP341v2
4 Streaming Clients
The new RP341v2 is the further development of our successful RP341 4 zone sound system. While the RP341 previously only provided one streaming client for all 4 zones, the new RP341v2 now has 4 streaming clients installed. This means that each room can now listen to Internet radio, Spotify, Deezer, Qobuz, Tidal, sound machine, NAS or AirPlay independently of the other rooms.
In addition to the 4 streaming clients, the 4 zones share a DAB + / FM tuner. Especially for the morning wake-up call, we don't want to do without the built-in tuner: regardless of the availability of the Internet, radio reception via DAB + / FM is always guaranteed. This gives you the certainty that music really comes out of the speakers in the morning. All 4 zones share this DAB + / FM tuner. It is therefore not possible to listen to different DAB + / FM radio stations in different rooms.
In addition to the streaming clients and the tuner, the RP341v2 also provides a line input as a jack socket. This means that, for example, the television sound can be reproduced via the Multiroom SoundSystem. Audio Externder solutions such as the trivum XT:LINE and trivum XR:LINE are ideal for bringing the sound of the television into the control cabinet. When planning the cabling, a separate CAT 6/7 cable should be provided from the television to the control cabinet so that the TV sound can be heard in other rooms or in the garden via the trivum Multiroom SoundSystem.
As an alternative to connecting the TV set to the RP341v2, it is also possible to use a Bluetooth receiver, e.g. in the dining / living area. This means that every mobile device can easily play music via Bluetooth using the trivum Multiroom SoundSystem. A Bluetooth receiver and the connection to the line input of the RP341v2 are required for this. As with TV sound, it is advisable to use audio extenders such as the trivum XT:LINE and trivum XR:LINE.
Operation / control
Thanks to the intuitive app, the system is very easy to use - on smartphones as well as in the web browser or on the trivum TouchPads. Thanks to the trivum t3OS operating system, the trivum sound systems are simple and at the same time very flexible. It includes many additional functions that make the RP341v2 a powerful control center in every home.

Sound and amplifier power
The 4 built-in digital stereo power amplifiers provide more than enough power for built-in speakers with 2x30 watts each. The wattage specified for the loudspeakers must be well above 30 watts. Because the watt value for the loudspeakers indicates the maximum load on the loudspeaker. If a loudspeaker is specified with 120 watts, this means that it can be operated with a maximum of 120 watts. Normal room volume is below 1 watt. Thus, 30 watts of amplifier power for multiroom built-in speakers is more than enough power.
Built-in speakers are often not perfectly matched. This is due to the type of installation or placement. That is why every trivum amplifier has a built-in DSP (Digital Sound Processor). Thanks to the DSP, the frequency response can be meticulously adjusted. There are no fewer than 5 parametric equalizers, high and low pass, bass enhancement and of course bass, treble and balance per amplifier. This even enables the equalization of invisible flat-panel loudspeakers.
Like all trivum Multiroom SoundSystems, the RP341v2 is also completely integrated in KNX. Simple KNX buttons can thus control the music in the room. All you need is 4 buttons! If a KNX visualization is available or planned, it can take over the music control. This is very easy, is great to use and brings real added value to the visualizations such as the GIRA QuadClient, Homeserver or GIRA G1 / X1.
In addition to the possibility of controlling the music functions through KNX, every trivum Multiroom System also offers its own KNX visualization. With this you can control light (RGB, RGBW, Tunable White), heating, shutters etc. in the trivum app in addition to music. Simple timers, presets and scenes are also part of the trivum visualization. Take a look at the KNX visualization in our Live demo area.
Control4 or RTI Integration
Further functions of the trivum multiroom system
Paging / Text2Speech: The built-in paging function enables various announcements: Either via microphone (connected to the line input) or through the Text2Speech function: Any text you enter is converted into speech and then played as an announcement. Announcements are started by KNX or by actions, can be played in selected or all zones with predefined volume levels. If necessary, also with a gong in front of it. The paging can also be used as a doorbell - or at the push of a button "Children please come up. The meal is ready".
Mixes: If there is more than 1 line input (unfortunately the RP341v2 only has one), several players can be heard at the same time with the mix function. The ratio of the line inputs to each other can then be set for each mix preset. A function that is used in conference rooms with several microphones.
Background Music: With "Background Music" you can easily listen to the same music - without grouping zones. This is ideal for commercial installations with many different areas.
Background music is provided by a special zone, and all other zones can use the music in that zone as a source.
Macros: Every trivum multiroom system has the option of defining macros and starting them with an action or KNX event. A macro is a sequence of macro steps. A step can be a TCP, UDP, HTTP, MQTT, KNX, Delay or, in turn, a trivum action command.
NodeRed / MQTT: To support IoT applications, every trivum multiroom system includes a simple NodeRed and MQTT interface. This allows you to connect the trivum Multiroom System with the whole world of IoT technology.
trivum API: Many functions of the trivum Multiroom System can be addressed via the trivum Developer API. This means that you have full access to the system with simple HTTP requests. You receive complete zone status information instantly in XML format when changes are made. This allows you to integrate the trivum multiroom system into your own visualization or media control.

Example: music for 3 rooms
The example shows what a trivum multiroom audio solution can look like. The RP341v2, connected to the local network (LAN) via the Cat-5 Ethernet cable, plays in living rooms, bedrooms and children's rooms. Two of the four stereo loudspeaker outputs are used for the living room. This offers sufficient performance and at the same time the living room can be divided into two zones if necessary. Music can also be played back via the external stereo system at the line-out output of the RP341v2. If you want to use other audio sources, you can connect them to the line-in input of the RP341 v2 (additional devices / adapters may be required for this). In this way, in this example, the music of the record player can be reproduced in one, several or all zones. The trivum Multiroom System is controlled via the trivum TouchPads and the free trivum App.
KNX for music control
The trivum SoundSystems can be fully integrated into a KNX system via a KNX/IP router or KNX/IP Interface.
For example, you can also control your trivum multiroom system with KNX buttons from JUNG, GIRA, etc. And that without great effort or even expensive KNX software, because: all trivum SoundSystems can be configured and parameterized via the built-in web server.
All you need is a browser-enabled device and a functioning KNX system.
Change the volume with a KNX rotary control, select the sources step by step or directly with a KNX button, or have status information such as title and artist shown on a KNX display. Using the trivum KNX events, you can link individual KNX group addresses with trivum actions that are to be carried out within a zone.
You can try all of this right away! Look under "Live Demo" at the top of the menu.
